Buttonwood ArtSpace, Owen/Cox Dance Group, Strung Through Time

Saturday, June 8th, Arts Alive begins with a visit to a small mid-town gallery, Buttonwood Art Space, to view a special exhibition they've organized entitled Kansas City. It will showcase hundreds of examples of buildings, fountains, parks and monuments located within our city limits done by local artists and all for sale. Proceeds will be split between the Kansas City Parks and Recreation and the artist. We'll have a wonderful reception featuring a new restaurant, Banksia, and their unusual Australian cuisine. We'll meet at 5:30pm which will give us plenty of time for a reception, tour of the artworks and time to travel to the UMKC campus and find parking near White Recital Hall at the Spencer Theater building.

The Owen/Cox Dance Group offers an exciting evening of contemporary dance and traditional music. The eight dancers will dance to choreography by several well known artists and supported by a quartet of musicians featuring Elizabeth Suh Lance and her ensemble playing music covering three centuries.

Strung Through Time begins at 8pm and should offer something for everyone.

Seating is limited and will sell out quickly so get your reservation in quickly and come join us for another unique evening enjoying both visual and performing art. Our community is filled with amazingly talented individuals and we've found yet another wonderful evening of enjoyment with them.
