Arts Alive begins the fall 2017 season with a visit to one of the best corporate art collections in Kansas City. Over the years Shook Hardy & Bacon, one of the top law firms in the city and with 12 offices worldwide, has assembled paintings, prints, photographs and sculpture from local, regional and nationally known artists and we'll visit their offices on Wednesday, September 13th, beginning at 5 o'clock. They are located at 2555 Grand Boulevard, one of these most beautiful buildings within the Crown Center complex. We'll enjoy a reception and tour of the collection before heading to a 7:30 curtain at the Just Off Broadway theater.
Spinning Tree Theatre has produced such favorites as West Side Story and Fiddler on the Roof and now presents one of the great musical theater classics, FINIAN'S RAINBOW, originally produced on Broadway in 1947. This version features two pianos and well known local actor, Phil Fiorini, in the lead role. In addition to Old Devil Moon, the story line deals with racism and class distinctions, subjects still discussed even today.
Just Off Broadway theater is a little jewel just a few blocks from Crown Center at 3051 Central easily reached by coming down Central from Linwood. There is ample free parking next to the theater. Seats are limited so reserve your place quickly on our PayPal system and join us for another wonderful Arts Alive evening.
