As the arts calendar moves into spring Arts Alive again presents a wonderful evening of visual arts followed by one of the most frequently performed operas in the world; Gioachino Rossini's The Barber of Seville. Wednesday, May 2nd is the date and first, we'll meet in Crown Center to visit an amazing art collection in the offices of Crestwood Midstream Partners.  Before Bill Gautreax retired, he acquired many works of art for his personal collection and generously allowed the works to be displayed in the offices of Inergy, LP before they merged and moved into the beautiful new offices in Crown Center.  The company is fully integrated in natural gas and recognized as a leader in the industry.   We'll meet there at 5 pm for our usual reception, an introduction by senior management and a tour of the collection.

We leave Crown Center in time for the 7:30 curtain at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. The Lyric Opera of Kansas City has grown to become one of the country's best regional opera companies and the Barber of Seville, first performed in 1816 is considered Rossini at his best. This comic opera was written when the composer was only 24 years old and we'll be there to enjoy watching Figaro and his friends in a joyous evening of music and singing.
