Megan and Julia, Two Wild Women of Song

Welcome to the New Year. We're glad we made it through the past 18 months during the pandemic, offering events where we could present the best of the cultural arts in Kansas City safely and with our membership as first priority. We're still Alive and the January event will be one you won't want to miss.

We begin the evening at 5:30pm at the historic Fire House at 45th and Troost. This 1931 gem has been fully restored to handle weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and special events. The space can comfortably and safely accommodate up to 100 people with cabaret style seating.

Outside there will be a display in front of several classic “art" cars done by the artist Philo Northrup. You may have seen them driving around the city and they are wonderful. Once inside you'll be treated to a supper by our favorite caterer, Michael Wyatt.

We'll begin the entertainment at 6:30 featuring singer Megan Birdsall and her trio. She's performed for us on several occasions over our 22 year history and has always been one of our favorite musicians. After a break to refill drinks, finish our dinner and converse with other members, we'll present Julia Othmer, singer, pianist and songwriter who has recently moved back to Kansas City after performing in the Los Angeles area. She'll have just returned from a tour in Europe. We'll be treated to some of her new songs as well as old favorites.

The entire evening is still $45.00 so call your friends, put a group together and join us for a wonderful evening.
