Danny Cox and Friends October 18, 2020 4:00 PM SOLD OUT

For those of you fortunate enough to have attended our September event featuring Barnaby Bright at the Fire Station at 45th and Troost, we were treated to an exceptional performance. We moved inside due to the weather and everyone in attendance felt relieved that the long hiatus due to COVID was finally over. A few brought picnics while others listened quietly and safely with a bottled drink of choice.

With this experience under our belts, we have arranged a second monthly event scheduled for Sunday afternoon, October 18th at 4:00 PM (no Chiefs game) at the Plexpod located at 39th and Gillham Road. We've arranged for a lawn party just behind the parking garage so bring your blankets, chairs, picnics and warm clothes as mid-October might be chilly. In case of inclement weather, we'll move to the garage which is large enough when empty to handle a large group.

Danny Cox has long entertained various groups around the city with ballads, folk music and popular songs. He originally moved to Kansas City in the late 1960s and was a mainstay at the Vanguard Coffee House at 43rd and Main Street. He brings his quartet and beautiful, deep voice to us for an afternoon of songs, memories and stories of his early days in Kansas City. Again we are limited in the number of people allowed so sign up quickly. The cost is $35.00 and includes bottled drinks of beer, wine and water. We look forward to another cultural event and a chance for you to get out of your home and support the arts.
