The November Arts Alive event on Thursday, November 17 th includes a tour of one of the most interesting art collections in the Midwest and a play that will tickle your fancy.

Meet us at 5:00 pm in the lobby of the beautiful Congregation Temple B’nai Jehudah at 12320 Nall for a tour of the Klein Collection. After a one-hour tour we will reassemble to enjoy supper catered by the Mixx. Then we’ll take a five-minute drive to the Lewis & Shirley White Theatre at the Jewish Community Center campus for a 7:30 pm curtain of The Addams Family, part of the 2022-2023 theater series.

The Klein Collection has been assembled over many years by Michael Klein and it is now housed and presented in a special gallery within the Temple. The collection contains historic Judaica spanning centuries and continents and is among the largest and most diverse collections in the United States. Each object has a history and docents will share the stories that illustrate the rich history of Jewish life through the centuries. Abby Magariel is the Education/Curator of the collection and she will speak to our group before breaking us into smaller groups for a full tour.

The Addams Family is a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess has fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family-a man her parents have never met. Everything changes as they arrange a dinner party to meet the families and get acquainted.
